Initial Consultation

During our initial consultation, our landscape designer will meet with you at you home for an hour or two, to discuss you plans and vision for the space we are to design. We will ask many questions during the initial consultation, but our primary intention is to listen. Our goal is to fully understand what you are looking for and how the space will be used.  We also will discuss the functionality of the plan, the budget for the project, and any future uses of the space you may need.

Site Analysis & Concept Design

After the initial consultation, our designers will do a complete site analysis and take measurements, enabling us to create a scaled drawing of the project. The analysis will include the location of existing plants and features that are to remain in the design, along with other factors such as drainage, lighting, pedestrian traffic flow, ingress/egress, and elevation changes.

Design & Master Plancommercial design 1

Once we have assembled all of the measurements, inventory of existing elements, and all of your needs and desires, we ill start the design process. After we asses all of the information, our designers will strive to create a design with your vision, style, and preferences in mind. Using traditional design theories such as balance, contrast, symmetry, and more, we will aim to blend the natural character of the space with the existing architecture of your home.

Presentation & Acceptance

Once the design process is finished for your project, we will call and schedule a second meeting at your home or the property location. At the second meeting, we will provide you with the following

  • A finished landscape plan
  • A comprehensive proposal for the installation
  • A copy of the guarantee on our work
  • A certificate of insurance

Budget For Your Landscape Project

Block Column_2

Most clients do not know what the costs will be to turn their vision into reality, but they usually know the "ballpark" of what they have budgeted to spend on the project. Remember, if your budget does not cover all of your ideas for the space you would like to landscape, we can design a landscape master plan to be installed in "phases" which can be spread over time.

The advantage of having a budget, is that we can design a landscape for you that meets your budget and fulfills your vision of your landscape. With a budget in hand, our designers know the limits of their materials, but without limiting their creativity. For example, to meet a set budget, plants can be enlarged or scaled back in size, the brand or type of patio or firepit can change without changing the size,  or the size of a pond or water feature can be scaled to meet the budget.

Landscape Design Tips

Landscape Design

Here are some things that our clients can do prior to the initial consultation that will assist our designers in delivering a landscape design that meets all of your goals and dreams.

  • Look at the landscaping of other homes in your neighborhood. What do you like and not like about their landscape?
  • Think of plants you have seen that you like.
  • Consider how much maintenance you are willing to do, in terms of plant care and landscape care.
  • What view to the house or building is the most important?
  • What views from inside your home would you like to enhance?
  • Are there any views to hide or downplay?
  • Which existing plants do you want to keep?
  • Is landscape lighting important to you?
  • Will you use the space to entertain? If so, how many people should we plan for?
  • Will you want an outdoor kitchen or entertainment/eating area?
  • Having your plat of survey will help our designers.
